For the 20 rectangles project we had to design an object that incorporated exactly 20 rectangles. We could design something that dealt with architecture, landscape, graphic design or information architecture. We were informed to make a prototype of our design to see how it would fit together and then we made the final model. The final design was made out of our mat board (white or black), we also had to include one more color using spray paint, and we were instructed to use clear glue. The design had to fit within a 6" x6" x6" space, must be able to stand on all six sides, and like I said before must contain 20 rectangles; no more, no less. This project was interesting because you really had to think about the design and where all the rectangles would go. I chose a simple, easy design; a tall building. The yellow rectangles resemble windows (with lights turned on). The white rectangle at the bottom of the design is the doors. I liked this project because you really did have to think about what your design would look like, the only difficulty I really had was gluing the model together, I also learned you must use your time wisely and have a plan to follow so you aren't trying to scramble and finish last minute.
