For the Puzzle Cube design project we had to make up an original puzzle cube combination with five different parts. Each individual puzzle part had to contain at least 4 and no more than six hardwood cubes. We had to neatly sketch and color code an isometric view of each of the five component parts and show how they fit together. We had to do two solutions with 10 unique parts then after that we picked the best option from the two solutions. We then completed these drawings on the 3-D modeling software. After we completed all the individual parts on the computer we were then assigned to do an assembly of how these parts fit together. Lastly we made an actual model of our 3-D puzzle cube, and we had the freedom to make it out of any material we wanted... I used dice and painted them the appropriate colors. I really enjoyed this project because you had to be very organized and keep all drawings together because they always led to the next step in the project. This project also made you think because you had to eliminate designs that didn't work and it was hard to come up with a design that met all the criteria.
