In this activity we were to solve a certain problem using the engineering design process. The problem we had to solve was to build a paper bridge using a pencil, 2 3/4 in. wooden blocks, 1 sheet of 8.5 " by 11" card stock and scissors. We were also supposed to document this process in our engineering notebook. Teams were trying to come up with a design that had the maximum distance between the two blocks and held them together with the card stock. The paper could not touch the table top but could be folded or cut in any way. Our team had the winning design that met the constraints but also held the farthest distance. In this challenge I believe our team got first place because worked well together and followed the design process strictly.
